The Higher Power of Lucky

Story summary:  Lucky, a 10-year-old that has just lost her mother, learns to love the guardian her father has found for her: his first ex-wife.  As Brigitte and Lucky come to know each other, Lucky becomes concerned that Brigitte will move back to France.  Lucky takes things into her own hands when she finds papers that make her think Brigitte is planning to leave.
My reaction:  I enjoyed this story very much.  I feel it touches deep fears an abandoned, lonely child can experience. This book can be an opening for much discussion. I especially love the ending.
