Purpose

The purpose of this  blog is to share what I have learned in studying Children's Literature through the book:
The 8th Edition of Essentials of Children's Literature by Kathy G. Short, Carol Lynch-Brown, Carl M. Tomlinson. This latest edition, published by Pearson Education, Inc. of New Jersey in 2014, is a great resource for the study of Children's Literature.  I have learned many things about the usefulness of children's literature and the impact it has on children. Studying this course has also helped me to more clearly understand reading levels and what is of interest to children.  It has helped me also to consider the uses of literature with other subjects and making them more meaningful to children.
