Summary:  Hugo is a young boy who lives alone in the clock works of the train station. He has stayed under the radar of the station master and all other authorities and has survived by stealing food, and parts he needs to fix his father's invention. His most valued possession is a notebook.
Hugo meets a young girl, Isabelle, and together they discover a secret her grandfather has kept for years.
My reaction:  This book is a great story and has so many elements in it, including loss, grief, determination, friendship and creativity.
