Story summary: Henry (Hank) Aaron has a dream to play major league baseball at a time when he cannot even play on a field in his hometown because he is “colored.” With the inspiration from Jackie Robinson’s success, Hank perseveres to become one of the best ball players in MLB history.
My reaction: I am so glad that we live in a time that segregation is no longer allowed. However, I feel it is essential that children of all races and cultures realize from where we came and the hard work it took for our nation to be where it is today.
